This is something I discovered during last week's event. Since the large update with the new UI, etc... I have seen none of the old effects of drunkeness either. Let me rephrase...since that update is when I "noticed" the issue.

Are you sure that you aren't drunk in real life, and just can't tell the difference?

I have been working on mine this weekend and have no problems seeing the screen go grey or fuzzi while drinking.
I drink three right away, then after 1 minute drink 1, repeat 1 drink every minute. What do you have your graphics settings at? Do you have post processing effects turned on? Which version of DirectX are you using? |

You have to check your Post Processing Effects option...
If it is turned off...Drunkeness isn't that much different than non-drunk, |

Check your graphics quality slider. drunkeness doesn't display at low quality.

Maybe Anet realized that when you get drunk it doesn't look like that in real life. They came closer to making it look like we are doing acid.

It happens if you turn down graphics detail. This also eliminater the portal distortion effect, and probably a few more.
It's also a little help to finish the drinking competition in orchards mission. It may also vary between different graphic cards. |

Ive noticed a lot of changes in how your screen looks - mine now, when i drink regular dwarven or hunters ale, instead of just getting really blurry, it kind of warps - like your looking at a funny mirror - the head on your character is small, and gets bigger and whatnot.
But over the summer when i was at my cousins house, i used her laptop to play so i could do the things in the dragon festival, and she could get drunk - and it was couting minutes, you just couldnt see it - So im guessing it has a lot to do with your computer/graphics card. |
